we search for the truth, we seek justice. the courts require it, the victims cry for it, and God demands it. -Team 5
it’s playoff time in Oklahoma City and TreeandLeaf has produced another excellent Thunder shirt (left). the shirt on the right is equally as awesome.

I have been dreaming of a new urban living space for months now and finally this summer my lease will be up. Plenty of space, raw flooring, comfortable furnishings, filled with light and tons of personality…these are at the top of my list.

Excitedly starting Urban Tribes: Are Friends the New Family? by Ethan Waters today courtesy the lovely, Jenn Scott.
Updated: A particularly poignant excerpt from the introduction:
“In trying to chart the landscape of our early adulthood, we drew no sharp distinction between highbrow and lowbrow knowledge. We stitched together our life philosophies from song lyrics, sacred texts, our college social psychology classes, our parents, our bosses and coworkers, The Simpsons, snippets of wisdom forwarded to us in e-mails, and things we overheard on the bus. For us, the answer to the question How do you live a good life? was not something handed down from on high. We are making up answers -riffing them- as we went along. “
On the same note, be on the lookout for a new blog collaboration coming soon. It will house random snapshots from the lives of a few 20-somethings living in OKC’s evolving urban culture.

On this foggy morning, nothing lifted my spirits more than the Americano I ordered from the Elemental Coffee Alley Espresso bar. This Oklahoma coffee roaster will soon be serving up drinks out of their own cafe located on Hudson between 7th and 8th. Their new home will not only supply locals a place to enjoy a cup of joe but also as homebase for their bulk coffee roasting. If you can’t make it to midtown, Elemental Coffee is served all over the metro (list).
While in the neighborhood, don’t forget to check out Ludivine for a unique dining and drinking diversion. It has quickly become our go-to-spot for late night libations.
Cheers to local fare done right. Get out there and experience something new.

OKC has been involved in some major national press lately and much of it is due to what is happening down on the Oklahoma River. Over the past couple months I have spent a good amount of time downtown, whether it be for Red Coyote running club at the Chesapeake Boathouse or most recently the Head of Oklahoma Regatta at the Devon Boathouse. I never fail to capture an image, like the ones above, each time I make the trip to this uniquely OKC attraction. If you haven’t yet gotten the chance to experience this part of downtown, I highly recommend making the trip.
